Matt April 20, 2009 at 11:23 pm: I think that getting fired for the pictures was wrong. What she does in her private life is up to her. Unless the school had a “no Nudes” clause in the contract. I believe that she will do better than teaching little cheerleaders any day.

Honestly, this country has no morals and as a cheerleader, I would be ashamed if I saw my cheerleading coach posing nude for playboy. For one, coaches are to be looked up to to set a good example for the girls they are coaching. Also, it makes the girls of that squad look bad, the school look bad and her look bad. If she wanted to be a Playboy Bunny she should have chosen that as a profession, and not tried to teach 16 and 17 year old girls what “not to do” when she was being a hypocrite the entire time. I know that my cheerleading coaches tell us they do not want to hear about naked pictures, crazed sex scandals, drunken parties or see any of that on our facebooks or myspaces. For them to tell us that, and then being doing it themselves it completely shameful and hypocritical. That woman deserved to lose her job because she chose to be responsible of young adults and chose to set an example for the girls she is coaching. No what she does on her own time is the schools business because they hired her for a reason.. obviously they thought she would be the best for these girls but all she did was set a poor example for girls that are looked up to by the entire school and young elementary girls. Sure, she could say Do what i say, not as i do.. but teenage girls aren’t going to listen to that, they’ll just call her a hypocrite and follow her poor example. That’s why America has no morals because of people like her that think it’s okay. Sure… be a playboy bunny no one would care if you weren’t teaching their children. Kudos to the parents who turned her in, and shame on all of your disrespectful wenches that actually think something like this is okay. If you had children, which I hope you don’t because they’ll be wrongly opinionated and foolish, but I can almost garauntee that you would be very upset if your daughter came home and said that her cheerleading coach, someone that she spends more time with than you.. is posing for playboy. completely shameful and unbelievable.

Dan April 21, 2009 at 1:37 pm: First off, she did some nude modeling 4-5 yrs a go, she didn’t make a porno movie. You can go down to your local college and see nude models posing for artists to sketch at any given time, nothing I would do but people do a whole lot worse. The thing that I find funny is how was she discovered? She used a different name on a “adults only” website with hundreds of other girls, sounds to me like there are some avid playboy surfers that just stumbled across her and said “hey, she looks familar”.
The other thing is the reports say that the disgruntled cheerleader’s parents printed off the pictures and took them to the school principal. I wonder why they couldn’t just inform the school to look on the site under her name and make the call themselves, I guess ole dad got to get his eyes full printing them off, how ironic??

I agree sadfully with the state of morals in our country today but the same schools that condemn this employ gay and lesbian teachers everyday. In my opinion that is a far worse danger for our children than a teacher who did tasteful nude modeling pics years a go.
I think that how Carlie handles herself now is the key. If she continues to do non nude modeling as advertised on her website then that states her case. If she turns up as a playmate or porno star then I’ll buy all of the harsh criticisms………

Jay April 24, 2009 at 8:00 pm: Ok Abbi, so you are saying then all women who have ever posed nude should not be allowed to have children? Isn’t it a parents responsibility to teach their child right from wrong? Granted she was put in charge of impressionable girls but so what. I’m sure there are teachers all over the country who have engaged in some “immoral” acts per your standards. Should we then dismiss them all? No. That is not feasible. We should instead as parents take it upon ourselves to be the real role-models. Take responsibility for your own actions and stop expecting everyone to fall into your narrow-minded views.

Pat April 29, 2009 at 8:21 am: First of all, Jacob Webb and Abi along with anyone else who is opposed to anything that Carlie Beck has done, DO NOT GIVE ADVICE AGAIN! My biggest petpeeve is people talking about things that the do not want or not able to comprehend the facts to understand enough to talk about it at all! The only ones that are not moral, ethical or wrong behaviour is everyone against Carlie! I will try to make this simple for you to understand. Here are the facts posing nude is legal, the principal knew about the nude photos and accepted it if she did not advertise it, it is illegal for minors to possess or distribute any pornographic material and content, the nude information should have stopped at the principal and those adults involved are legally bound to keep this information confidential, the information was not stopped and now all the adults except Carlie Beck and any minors are guilty of illegally exposing it to minors with intent to distribute! All the people involved with kids just needed to explain to them that it is legal for adults only and an individuals informed choice to do and where it should of been stopped! These people are not moral, ethical and wrong and have proven that they need to be banned from any interaction of minors ever because there are two points in time that it should have been halted and did not! All their actions have put people in harmful situations too and should be punished to the full extent of the law for ‘zero tolerance’ as this situation provides the platfrom to start from! All the people involved and the things that they are blaming Carlie, is exactly who they are and what they are doing that is wrong! Another of the lesson from this is, as long as it benefits you, it does not matter what the laws deem as right and all you have to do is say it is your opinion with out the correct understanding and you can get away with harming an innocent person!
So yea, lets hear it for human rights and humanities progress to teach our future by arming them with the information earlier to understand and to recognize what is right and wrong in helping them to be safer in the absence of adults and as a society!
In conclusion for those who still disagree then ask yourself the following, have I stopped the singers, actors, actresses and models who get away with illegal actions repeatedly and more then one kind of illegal activity that kids learn from? ‘I doubt it’! HIPOCRITE…ZIP IT GOOD! Try to find something to do that does not require much thought or effort to understand and without any minors involved ever!
