In other notable categories: Penélope Cruz for her role in Nine nominated for best supporting actress, just like Julianne Moore in A Single Man co-stars as the best substitute for, inter alia, Matt Damon and Woody Harrelson against the grandiose Christoph Waltz from Inglourious Basterds. Best Director goes to Kathryn Bigelow, James Cameron, Clint Eastwood, Jason Reitman and Quentin Tarantino.
